In November 2023, in time for the COP28 United Nations Climate Change conference, ASU’s Center for Science and the Imagination will publish the Climate Action Almanac, an open-access digital book featuring fictional and nonfictional visions of climate futures from contributors in fifteen different countries, from China and Nigeria to Brazil, Scotland, Mexico, and Malaysia. In this workshop, we invite SLSA 2023 participants an exclusive sneak peek at the book, hosted on the PubPub community publishing platform from Knowledge Futures (https://pubpub.org). During this workshop, we’ll use a pre-release “beta” version of the Almanac as a springboard for conversations about global climate futures, and the imaginaries that will power solidarity and resilience in diverse communities across physical and cultural geographies.
